HC Deb 16 December 1977 vol 941 c427W
Mr. Swain

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will now consider introducing a sheep régime in Great Britain so as to ensure a continuance of supply to both the home consumer and the export market.

Mr. Bishop

We already have our own national arrangements for sheepmeat and are waiting for Commission proposals for a common market régime which should improve trade between member States We have made it clear that any régime must satisfy our needs as a producer. consumer, importer and exporter of sheepmeat.
