Mr. Hicks

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what is the current position in respect of the Rame Head Coastguard Station; what are the present manning levels; how this figure compares with the authorised personnel establishment for this station; what changes are proposed in the status of this station; what time-scale is envisaged; and if he will make a statement.

In addition to auxiliaries there are four regular coastguards at Rame Head. The authorised complement is six. The vacancies will he filled as soon as recruits are available.

No change is proposed at present in the status of Rame Head, but this will be reviewed in April 1979.
