§ Mr. Nobleasked the Secretary of State for Employment what are his proposals for the future organisation of the Manpower Services Commission, the Training Services Agency, and the Employment Service Agency.
§ Mr. BoothFollowing a review of organisation, the Manpower Services Commission has adopted and I have approved proposals under which, from 1st April 1978, the whole of the Commission's operations will be integrated into a single manpower services organisation. Under these arrangements the Employment Service Agency and the Training Services Agency will disappear as such, but the services concerned will be provided by separate operational divisions of the Commission. General oversight of all the manpower services at regional level will be the responsibility of the new Regional Manpower Services Directors, whose appointment I announced on 28th November. The Manpower Services Commission will become the employing authority for all staff concerned, whose conditions of service and status will not be affected by the change.
