Health and Education (Expenditure)

Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what was the total annual expenditure of the Health and Education Boards between 1st April 1977 and 30th June 1977; what is the anticipated expenditure of each board from 1st July 1977 to 31st March 1978; and how this compares with the Estimates presented to Parliament.

During the period 1st April 1977 to 30th June 1977 the total net payments of the Northern Ireland health and social services boards and the education and libraries boards were as follows:

Education and Library Boards	24.3

The anticipated expenditure of each health and social services board and each education and library board for the period 1st July 1977 to 31st March 1978 is not yet available.

Estimates, as presented to Parliament to date, provide £235.1 million for the health and social services boards and £115.2 million for the education and library boards.
