Although the High Commission has not so far been able to obtain a satisfactory response from the Turkish Cypriots as to their intentions, it will continue to press for this. Representations have been received about recent advertisements in the British Press for package holidays at hotels in Turkish-occupied Cyprus which are owned by Greek Cypriots living elsewhere. The British Government have no legal power to intervene with such advertisements. Their legality would be a matter for the courts. A case involving Hesperides Hotels Limited was the subject of a recent decision by the Court of Appeal against which an appeal has been lodged.
