§ Mr. Teddy Taylorasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) what representations he has had from the Scotch whisky industry regarding the threat to its business of the EEC objections to its price structure; and if he will make a statement;
(2) if he is aware of the consequences for the Scotch whisky industry of the objections by the EEC Commission to the price structure of Distillers Ltd.; and if he will make representations to the EEC on the matter.
§ Mr. StrangWe have kept in close touch with the company concerned and it has put its views very clearly to us. On the question of representations to the EEC, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the hon. Member for Louth (Mr. Brotherton) on 14th December. The EEC Commission has not yet made a decision on this matter, although it is likely to do so shortly.—[Vol. 941, c.250.]
