asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will cause studies to be undertaken of the operation of citizen band radio in West Germany, Switzerland, France. Belgium and Denmark.

No. A good deal of information is already available to us about the operation of citizens' band radio in these and other countries.

35. Mr. Freud

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what plans he now has for the extension of local radio in Great Britain.

Mr. John

I must ask the hon. Gentle man to await the publication of the Government's proposals for the future structure of broadcasting.
