HC Deb 15 December 1977 vol 941 c355W
Mr. Skinner

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if, in the light of the letter sent to him on 12th December by the Bolsover Labour Party regarding the electoral arrangements for Bolsover District Council and the reduction in representation for Whitwell, he will modify the recommended decision of the Boundary Commission.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

The Local Government Boundary Commission for England submitted its report containing final proposals for new electoral arrangements for the district of Bolsover on 28th November. A minimum statutory period of six weeks must elapse between the submission of the report and the making of an order implementing the Commission's final proposals with or without modifications. During that period representations may be made, will take account of the representations made by the Bolsover Constituency Labour Party, together with any others I receive, when I come to consider the Commission's proposals.
