§ Mr. Dudley Smithasked the Secretary of State for Transport what is the total level of local transport expenditure bid by counties in England and Wales, the accepted level of expenditure and the level of transport supplementary grant, all in November 1977 prices for each of the years 1974–75, 1975–76, 1976–77 and 1978–79.
§ Mr. HoramThe transport supplementary grant (TSG) system was introduced in 1975–76. The 1978–79 TSG settlement has yet to be announced. But it is not practicable, without unreasonable cost, to provide the information in the form requested. I will, however, write to the hon. Member after the announcement of the 1978–79 settlement.
