§ Mr. McNamaraasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has yet considered any alteration to the Judges' Rules to meet the difficulties arising in the Prevention of Terrorism Act whereby people may be detained in police custody for a further period of five days.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesI announced on Monday 12th December that I had invited my noble Friend Lord Shackleton to carry out a review of the operation of the Act. Lord Shackleton will be free to consider the point my hon. Friend has in mind.
