asked the Secretary of State for the Environment further to the reply to the hon. Member for Croydon, Central, on 1st December, what use is currently being made of the Government Press Centre in Little St. James Street.

Since mid-July the St. James's Conference and Press Centre has been used for a major hospital inquiry, three Press conferences, a Press briefing, and 22 other Departmental inquiries, conferences, seminars and examinations. The hospital inquiry is due to continue to the end of February, and at the moment there are 27 forward bookings through to June next year, with a further three for October and one for November.
