HC Deb 13 December 1977 vol 941 cc144-5W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Minister for the Civil Service, in the light of the fact that for the 12 months ended 31st August 1977 the cost of the Sunningdale and London centres of the Civil Service College was £3.754 million, what action, in accordance with the Government's call for reductions in public expenditure, he has taken to reduce this figure.

Mr. Charles R. Morris

The figure of £3.754 million compares with one of £4.462 million for the previous year when the college included a centre in Edinburgh. The closure of that centre was the college's contribution to meet the Government's call for reductions in public expenditure.
