asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the value of rate support grant per head of population.

Mr. Millan

The Rate Support Grant (Scotland) Order 1977, laid before the House for approval on 1st December 1977, provides for total rate support grant for Scotland in 1977–78 of £932.9 million, which amounts to £179.2 per head of population.
