asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he has expressed his thanks to Barclays Bank for the donation of £25,000 to police charities following the successful arrest and conviction of the murderer of a bank clerk in the hon. Member for Richmond's constituency.

No. The donation was made by the bank to the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis to dispose of to police charities as he saw fit, and I understand that he has thanked the bank for it.
