HC Deb 08 December 1977 vol 940 c805W
Mrs. Jeger

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what recommendations of the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution have so far been implemented; how many are outstanding; and why.

Mr. Shore

The Royal Commission has published six reports embodying nearly 200 recommendations. Pollution Paper 4ߞpublished by Her Majesty's Stationery Office—summarises the Government's response to the first four reports, nearly all of whose recommendations were accepted. Following widespread consultation, the Government are considering the numerous recommendations of the Fifth Report and will make known their conclusions as soon as possible. The White Paper "Nuclear Power and the Environment", Cmnd. 6820, set out the Government's favourable response to the Sixth Report.
