Non-inflationary Growth Strategy

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if Her Majesty's Government have agreed on a strategy for non-inflationary growth as raised at ministerial conferences of the OECD; and whether he will place a statement of the strategy in the Library.

Mr. Joel Barnett

The strategy for sustained economic expansion which OECD Ministers agreed at their meeting of 21st-22nd June 1976 was set out in the communiqué issued after that meeting. This was later published in the "OECD Observer" No. 82, July 1976, pages 4–7. The strategy was reaffirmed at the OECD ministerial council meeting of 23rd–24th June 1977, and relevant extracts from the communiqué were published in the "OECD Observer" No. 87, July 1977, pages 4–6.
