§ Mr. Carter-Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if, in view of the fact that the introduction of housewives' non-contributory invalidity pension was delayed for two years after the introduction of non-contributory invalidity pension, despite the fact that legislation was enacted simultaneously, he will extend entitlement to housewives' noncontributory invalidity pension to married women who satisfy the criteria now and who had not reached the age of 60 years on the date when non-contributory invalidity pension was introduced.
§ Mr. Alfred MorrisI regret that this cannot be done. The main social security provision for women over 60 remains the retirement pension.
