What species and numbers of primates have been imported for research purposes during the latest year for which details are available, and how this compares with the previous year.
§ Lord STRABOLGIOur anti-rabies quarantine records show that 2,030 primates were imported into research premises in Great Britain during 1976. A further 7,974 were imported into acclimatisation premises supplying animals for research: many of these are eventually sent overseas. The comparable figures for 1975 were approximately 2,400 and 7,900 respectively.
