§ Mr. Newensasked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to issue a revised version of guidance to local authorities to replace Development Control Note No. 13.
§ Mr. ShoreIt is intended to issue revised planning guidance on large new 497W stores in a new version of Development Control Policy Note 13 within the next two weeks. A covering circular to local authorities will summarise research findings on the effect which these stores have had on food retailing and prices and on consumers. I will send copies of these documents to my hon. Friend and will place copies in the Library.
