The numbers of persons taken to court in 1975, 1976 and 1977 for fishing offences in the Northern Ireland portion of the Foyle area, following detection by members of the Royal Ulster Constabulary—RUC—and the Foyle Fisheries Commission's staff—FFC—respectively, are as follows:

in Northern Ireland which received assistance with the installation of telephones in the year ended 31st March 1977; and if he will list the net expenditure per 1,000 population on telephones.

, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 30th November 1977; Vol. 940], gave the following information:

The number of housholds assisted with the installation of a telephone in the year ended 31st December 1976 was:

date of vesting in respect of redevelopment areas 19 and 22 N, namely, Donegall Pass.

, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 30th November 1977; Vol. 940, c. 194], gave the following information:

The Northern Ireland Housing Executive submitted an application for a vesting order on 6th May 1977. An inspector held a public inquiry on 4th and 5th July 1977, and his report is now being considered by the Northern Ireland Department of the Environment. I hope that a decision will be announced in the new year.

Mr. Bradford

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland when he intends to seek to amend the planning law in Northern Ireland in order to enable the issuing of stop notices on commercial ventures which have not obtained planning permission regarding change of use.

Mr. Carter

, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 30th November 1977; Vol. 940, c. 193–4], gave the following information:

A proposal for a draft Order in Council is being prepared and will be published shortly. It will seek to amend the law to enable "stop notice" action to be taken in cases where planning permission has not been obtained for a material change of use of land or buildings.

The proposed amendment will bring the law in Northern Ireland into line with the rest of the United Kingdom.
