HC Deb 01 December 1977 vol 940 c396W
Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is his estimate of the Scottish output of timber in each of the past 10 years to the nearest available full year; what is the estimated output by 1984; and if he can show how much of this timber is used in Scotland and how much is exported to other parts of the United Kingdom.

Mr. Hugh D. Brown

The estimated output is set out in the table below, expressed as thousands of cubic metres. It is estimated that by 1984 the annual output of timber may reach 2,040,000 cubic metres. During recent years, between 150,000 and 200,000 cubic metres have been used outside Scotland.
