§ Mr. McElhoneThe information is not available centrally. Under the new system of financial planning for capital expenditure, which came into effect on 1st April 1977, local authorities are not required to provide information about the construction and final costs of individual social, cultural and recreational projects costing less than £500,000. In 1976–77 no 395W approvals to start new swimming pool projects were given and four community centres were authorised, all in areas of severe deprivation.
