§ Mr. HattersleyAs part of the planned rundown of the food subsidy programme for 1977–78 I have decided to end the household flour subsidy with effect from 1st May. The subsidy is at present worth 1p per 1b. at the retail level and costs about £8 million a year. Decisions on the ending of the remaining subsidies in milk, cheese, and bread have yet to be taken and will be announced nearer the time.
