HL Deb 27 April 1977 vol 382 c679WA
Lord MANCROFT

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the completion of the Stratton-Saint Margaret by-pass North of Swindon is affected by the economies, in expenditure on public works and if not, when it is expected that the by-pass will be opened to traffic.

Baroness STEDMAN

The recent reductions in public expenditure did not affect road schemes already under construction. Work on the by-pass started in September 1975 and it is expected that it will be opened to traffic in the autumn of this year.
