HC Deb 26 April 1977 vol 930 cc275-6W
Q15. Mr. Churchill

asked the Prime Minister if he has any plans to discuss with President Carter the need for increases in defence expenditure, in real terms.

Mr. Foot

I have been asked to reply.

My right hon. Friend will see President Carter at the meeting of NATO Heads of Government next month, and the effectiveness of the Alliance's defences in the light of the current military balance will, no doubt, be among the topics for discussion.
