HC Deb 25 April 1977 vol 930 c215W
Mr. Brocklebank-Fowler

asked the Minister of Overseas Development what proportion of the recent allocation of £1,290,000 for grain storage in Kenya during 1977–79 will result in export orders for British manufacturers; and what proportion will be spent on the erection of Cyprus bins to be constructed in Kenya using local labour and materials.

Mrs. Hart

This project is for an expansion of short-term grain-holding facilities in bag stores rather than for strategic bulk storage in Cyprus bins. 30 per cent. of our aid will be for United Kingdom procurement and the balance for local costs.
