Mr. Hooley

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will list in the Official Report all anti-dumping measures, quotas, levies, or other restrictions imposed since 1st January 1976 on imports of steel, stating in each case the country of origin of the imports affected.

Since 1st January 1976 four provisional charges to anti-dumping duties have been imposed:—stainless steel bars and billets from Spain: ad valorem 10 per cent. steel reinforcing bars from S. Africa: £38 per tonne steel light sections from Spain: £31.50 per tonne steel light sections from Japan: £20 per tonne The investigation into Spanish stainless steels has now been completed and substantive duties of 8 per cent., 10 per cent. and 16 per cent. ad valorem, according to the Government's devolution proposals for Wales in the Scotland and Wales Bill.
