asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many consultant rheumatologists there are in each of the health board areas in England.

Figures for consultant staff in England are not collected centrally on an area basis. At 30th September 1976 the whole-time equivalent consultants in rheumatology and rehabilitation in each of the regions were as given in the table below. Figures are not collected separately for the sub-specialty of rheumatology.
