HC Deb 07 April 1977 vol 929 cc682-3W
Mr. Grylls

asked the Secretary of State for Industry pursuant to Schedule 2, paragraph 7, to the Industry Act 1975, if he will ensure that the annual report, and future interim reports of the National Enterprise Board are printed as parliamentary papers and made available in the Vote Office.

Mr. Les Huckfield

I have nothing to add to the reply I gave the hon. Member on 12th November last.

Mr. Grylls

asked the Secretary of State for Industry whether anything has yet been decided on the complete capital structure for the National Enterprise Board, or on the amounts of loans it can raise from non-Government sources; and what such loans amount to at 4th April 1977.

Mr. Les Huckfield

No capital structure for the NEB has been determined My right hon. Friend has given his consent, and the Treasury have given its approval, under Schedule 2, paragraph 1(2)(b) of the Industry Act 1975, to the NEB securing a bank overdraft facility of £500,000.

Mr. Grylls

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what action he takes to satisfy himself under Section 6(3) of the Industry Act 1975 that the duties imposed on the NEB result in an adequate return on capital.

Mr. Les Huckfield

The financial duties of the NEB are not yet determined.
