HC Deb 07 April 1977 vol 929 cc639-40W
Mr. Skeet

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many new towns are included in the area of the Anglian Water Authority; and what amount of Government aid is provided, by grant or otherwise, designed to reduce the burden on the authority by such state developments.

Mr. Denis Howell

Five. Water authorities receive no Government assistance in respect of services in new towns, but development corporations may, with Ministers' consent, make contributions towards expenditure incurred by statutory undertakers in the performance of their functions. The development corporations in the Anglian area do make such contributions to the water authority.
