§ Mr. Monroasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will state the amount of the Sports Council grant for 1977–78; and what percentage increase this represents over 1976–77.
§ Mr. Carter, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 4th April 1977; Vol. 929, c. 373], gave the following information:
The Department has offered a recurrent grant of £478,000 to the Sports Council to meet its recurrent expenditure in 1977–78. This represents an 18 per cent. increase over the grant offered for 1976–77. The grant for capital expenditure in 1977–78 has not yet been finalised.
