HC Deb 06 April 1977 vol 929 cc569-70W
Mr. Higgins

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what progress has been made in designing a replacement for disabled drivers' three-wheel vehicles which will also accommodate a wheelchair.

Mr. Alfred Morris

My right hon. Friend and I are aware of two projects which provide for a disabled person to enter the vehicle in his wheelchair and drive while seated in it. One has reached the stage of a completed prototype but neither is yet in production. Our policy in relation to such projects was set out in my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Birmingham, Perry Barr (Mr. Rooker) on 8th March.—[Vol. 927, c. 466.]
