§ Mr. Gregor MacKenzieAs I informed the hon. Member on 11th November 1976—[Vol. 919, c. 261–2]—the Scottish electricity boards estimated in January 1976 that peak load in 1982 would amount to some 8,200 MW. Experience of the growth of demand for electricity since then has now led the boards to conclude that a peak load of this magnitude will not be achieved until some time in 1984.
