§ Mr. McElhoneEight miles of motorway are under construction. A start should be made in April on a scheme of about one mile, tenders have been received for a further scheme of just over five miles, and I expect that a further scheme of about 4½ miles will start towards the end of the year. In view of the need to control public expenditure the programme is being kept under review. It is, therefore, not possible to allocate starting dates to other motorway schemes at present.
