§ Mr. Teddy Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the effect in Scotland of the plans to increase the number of mathematics and science teachers; and, in particular, whether these plans will alter his proposals for the teacher training colleges.
§ Mr. MillanDiscussions are being arranged with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities, and other interested bodies about measures to improve the supply of teachers of subjects in which there are still shortages. I do not expect these measures to have any significant implications for my recent proposals.
