Mr. Cartwright

asked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will announce the names and the qualifications of those whom he has invited to serve on the working party to examine the proposals for a co-operative development agency.

I took the chair at the first meeting of the working group on 15th March. We did not invite individuals, but the following organisations were asked to nominate representatives to serve on the working group:

  • Co-operative Union.
  • Co-operative Party.
  • Co-operative Wholesale Society.
  • Fisheries Organisation Society.
  • Federation of Agricultural Co-operatives (UK).
  • Central Council for Agricultural and Horticultural Co-operation.
  • National Federation of Credit Unions.
  • Credit Union League of Great Britain.
  • Co-operative Housing Agency.
  • Fairhazel Housing Co-operative.
  • Co-operative Productive Federation.
  • Industrial Common Ownership Movement.
  • Trade Union Congress.
