§ Mr. Sproatasked the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will list all the items for which persons on social security can receive tokens or coupons, such as milk, butter, etc.
§ Mr. OrmePeople receiving supplementary benefit and family income supplement are entitled to tokens for free milk and vitamins for expectant mothers and children under 5; and under this winter's electricity discount scheme they may receive a voucher redeemable in part payment of a single electricity bill. They and their dependants are also entitled to free school meals; full refunds of hospital fares as patients; and, under the National Health Service, free prescriptions, free dental treatment and dentures and free spectacles. There may also be other local arrangements under which local authorities or voluntary bodies provide help to supplementary benefit recipients.
