§ Mr. Grieveasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science why Her Majesty's Inspectors of Schools who have themselves necessarily had teaching service do not receive the concession which is made to teachers and other civil servants that one-half of their service in Her Majesty's Forces should be taken into consideration in calculating their pensions; and what proposals she has for remedying this.
§ Miss Margaret JacksonThe situation arises with those inspectors who had transferred from the teacher's superannuation scheme to the Civil Service 287W scheme before the concession to teachers was made. It is not confined to Her Majesty's Inspectors but affects also many others who have transferred from one public service superannuation scheme to another. The matter is receiving attention by those Departments with responsibility for the public service schemes.
