HC Deb 01 April 1977 vol 929 c276W
Mr. Eldon Griffiths

asked the Secretary of State for Transport (1) what estimates have been made of the volume of traffic on the A604 in the vicinity of Haverhill which originates in, or is seeking access to, that town, as compared with the volume of through traffic;

(2) what estimate he has made of the cost benefit or loss to the community of constructing a Haverhill bypass.

Mr. Horam

The A604 in the region of Haverhill is a principle road for which Suffolk County Council is highway authority. Traffic surveys, and estimates of the benefit from a bypass, are matters for the council.
