§ Miss Margaret JacksonThe Education Act does not limit the number of pupils in a class. In the St. Helens Education Authority area the average size of class in January 1976 was 31.1 in primary schools and 22.8 in secondary schools. Information about class sizes relating to schools in parliamentary constituencies could not be provided without disproportionate cost.
