Dickson MabonRegulations concerned with the safety of oil and gas exploration and production activities and related diving operations on the United Kingdom Continental Shelf are already effectively enforced by my Department's Petroleum Engineering Directorate. The inspectors travel to installations by helicopter; I am confident that such access will always be readily available. The possible introduction of a 200-miles exclusive economic zone will not affect these arrangements.
