§ Mr. Charles R. MorrisI cannot yet give a figure, but we expect that the numbers will be small. By adjusting recruitment and other measures we hope to transfer as many surplus staff as possible to posts which become vacant—e.g., as a result of natural wastage. But some320W redundancy will be unavoidable, particularly in localities where there is no other Civil Service work or amongst surplus staff whose work is so specialised that they cannot readily switch to other jobs.
