§ Mr. DeakinsEach of the other EEC countries has social assistance provision, but none has a comprehensive system comparable to the Supplementary Benefits scheme administered by a single national agency. I would refer the hon. Member to the comparisons drawn in Chapter 19 of the Supplementary Benefits Commission Annual Report 1975 (Cmnd 6615).
