§ Mr. MoyleI am satisfied with the general quality of medical and hospital equipment, but there is always room for improvement. There are many safety standards which manufacturers are required to meet. Any instances of defective equipment are reported to my officers, who arrange for speedy rectification throughout the National Health Service. My Department is also active in association with industry and hospital staff in the development of safety standards and in the evaluation of equipment.
