§ Mr. Canavanasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether his Department will now take additional measures to deal with the problems of homeless young people.
§ Mr. DeakinsThe problems of homeless young people concern a number of Government departments. My Department is co-ordinating the Government's response to the recommendations of the Working Group on Homeless Young People, whose report has been sent to all local authorities in England and Wales, and will be arranging consultations with the local authority associations to consider what more can be done to help homeless young people without incurring additional expenditure. It will also continue to assist voluntary organisations with a national rôle in this field.
