Friend will be aware that the Manpower Services Commission has responsibility for ensuring that the projects provide suitable work for those employed, and it is for the local authority or voluntary body sponsoring the project to ensure that the information collected meets its requirements. It is too early to form any opinion of the value of the surveys, but I shall be inquiring about progress in England at the end of the year.
