§ Mr. Molloyasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what recent discussions he has had with the Royal College of Nursing and the leaders of COHSE, NUPE and other nurses' unions on the problem of unemployment among newly qualified nurses.
§ Mr. DeakinsMy right hon. Friend has discussed this with individual nursing organisations and he shares their concern that there should not be a general problem of employment for newly qualified nurses. At present he believes that the problem is limited to particular areas, and the Department is keeping in close touch with the health authorities about this.
