asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what agricultural acreage in the United Kingdom has been used for growing potatoes in each of the last five years; and what is his estimate of the acreage to be used for potato growing in the coming year.

The area planted to potatoes in the United Kingdom for the last five years was:

It is too early to make any estimate of likely plantings in 1977.
