HL Deb 21 October 1976 vol 375 c1654WA
Lord CHELWOOD

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will give an assurance that they will not introduce legislation to implement the majority report of the Committee on Financial Aid to Political Parties (Cmnd. 6601), in view of its highly controversial character, at least until the necessary reductions in public expenditure, as a proportion of national income, have helped to reduce inflation to an acceptable level.

Lord PEART

The Government have not yet completed their consideration of this report.
