§ Mr. William RodgersThere are six road construction units in England, responsible to me for carrying out the Government's programme of motorway and major trunk road constructions. They employed 2,847 permanent staff at 1st July, and in the last financial year their cost to public funds as an integral part of the cost of the trunk road programme was about £16 million.
